Twilight actor Gregory Tyree Boyce and his girlfriend have been found dead together in his Las Vegas home. The 30-year-old actor and Natalie Adepoju, 27, died together on 13 May but their cause of death has not been confirmed by Las Vegas Medical Examiner’s office. Boyce’s family later released a statement to TMZ that read: ‘We as family of Gregory Boyce are very saddened by our loss. He was a dad, son, grandson, brother, uncle, and friend. ‘He was the light of all our lives and we are very saddened by his death.’
‘The Gregory we knew was intimate with the world and a good person,’ they continued. ‘He was a very respectful and responsible man. He always put others first. The family would like to ask for our privacy as we mourn our losses and thank you for your well wishes.’
The couple was reportedly found by his cousin, who was also staying in the home at the time, after he realised Boyce’s car was still at the property, when he was meant to be in Los Angeles. TMZ are reporting that a ‘powdery substance’ was found in the home but this has not been confirmed by the Las Vegas authorities. Boyce was best known for his role as Tyler Crowley in the Twilight franchise, one of Bella Swan’s (Kristen Stewart) high school pals. In one iconic scene, he loses control of his truck in the school car park, and almost crushes her before Edward (Robert Pattinson) comes to her rescue. The couple leave behind Boyce’s 10-year-old daughter, Alaya, and Adepoju’s son, Egypt. In a heartbreaking post from 5 December, Boyce celebrated his 30th birthday with a message admitting he ‘didn’t think he would make it’ to the landmark age.
‘At one point I didn’t think I would make it to see 30 years old. Over the years like everyone else I have made mistakes along the way, but today is one of those days I only reflect on the great ones. What a time to be alive,’ he wrote. ‘Happy Dirty 30 self! Let’s make the rest of these years your best!!’ In his final post last week, he declared his love for his girlfriend on US Mother’s Day, stating: ‘Happy Mother’s Day again to my right hand/ my roll dog/ my Queen! Love you.’
A GoFundMe page for Adepoju’s family is now raising funds to help transport her body back to their family home. ‘We are writing this letter to let you know that our loving daughter, niece, sister, cousin, and friend Natalie Adepoju suddenly passed away on May 13, 2020 in Las Vegas, NV,’ they said. ‘Currently, it is our wishes to not disclose the cause. We ask that you respect the families [sic] wishes.’
